ALWAYS ACOUSTIC™ ALBUM REVIEW

Wednesday, March 19, 2008
By Aaron Keker

The Bravery released The Sun and the Moon Complete on March 18, 2008 on Island Records.

The band consists of vocalist Sam Endicott, guitarist Michael Zakarin, bassist Mike Hindert, keyboardist John Conway and drummer Anthony Burulcich.

I listened to The Sun and the Moon Complete in its entirety and I really enjoyed the album.

With that being said, I prefer the sunnier side of the album because it is more rock sounding than the techno side of the moon. Nevertheless, it is still a really good sophomore album by The Bravery.

The Sun and the Moon Complete commences with “Intro” and concludes with “The Ocean.” The songs in between like “Believe,” “Every Word Is a Knife In My Ear,” “Bad Sun,” “Time Won’t Let Me Go,” “Fistful of Sand,” “Angelina,” and “Split Me Wide Open” continue to keep the sun and moon shining brightly.

Whether you are familiar or unfamiliar with The Bravery, you should visit their web site at www.thebravery.com or their MySpace page at www.myspace.com/thebravery and listen to their music. If it turns out that you enjoy their music, make sure you purchase The Bravery’s music at iTunes, Napster, Rhapsody or any store that sells their music.

For those of you who purchased The Sun and the Moon at Target when it was first released on May 22, 2007, you received an extra bonus DVD. The bonus DVD contained a live acoustic performance of The Bravery.

They played “Time Won’t Let Me Go,” “This Is Not the End” and “Angelina” acoustically. These songs sound as good if not better than their sun and moon versions. One must ponder whether The Bravery will record all of these songs acoustically. Maybe they can release it on The Sun and the Moon Complete (Deluxe Version)?

Also, if you want to hear a live album performance by The Bravery, make sure you purchase Live from SoHo (iTunes Exclusive) – EP. The EP contains some of their hit songs like “Believe,” “Time Won’t Let Me Go” and “Unconditional” from The Bravery’s debut album titled The Bravery.

Finally, I am looking forward to providing future coverage of The Bravery whether it will be watching another live performance, an interview or both. If you want to watch a live performance by The Bravery, visit www.thebravery.com or www.myspace.com/thebravery for tour information. Below is the album song list for The Sun and the Moon Complete.
