ALWAYS ACOUSTIC™ ALBUM REVIEW

Monday, August 25, 2008
By Aaron Keker

A decade has almost passed since The Verve has released another album.

The anticipation is about to conclude as The Verve will be releasing their fourth album titled Forth on August 26th in the U.S. and it will be released on their own label On Your Own Records.

Forth is not like your typical bone crushing and fist pumping album that you typically might see on a rock album, but instead leaves you in more of a hypnotic, melodic state.

If your mind wants to relax in a hypnotic state, you will definitely want to listen to songs like “Love is Noise,” “Rather Be,” “Judas,” “Numbness” and “I See Houses.”

The moment you want to release your mind of your hypnotic state, make sure you listen to “Sit and Wonder” and “Appalachian Springs.”

As you listen to Forth, it sounds almost Pink Floydian like, which one must wonder if Pink Floyd is one of The Verve’s inspirations musically.

Some of the fans’ favorite songs on The Verve’s MySpace page are “Love is Noise” and “Sit and Wonder.” So, the fans like both the hypnotic and non-hypnotic melodies.

If you have waited almost a decade for another album by The Verve, you do not have to wait any longer. If you pre-order Forth on iTunes today, you will receive the bonus tracks of “Mama Soul,” “Muhammad Ali” and a bonus documentary video.

Finally, the fact that the fans of The Verve have waited almost a decade for another album, I would not be surprised if Forth became platinum just like Urban Hymns. Below is the album song list for Forth.

Forth:

1. “Sit and Wonder”
2. “Love is Noise”
3. “Rather Be”
4. “Judas”
5. “Numbness”
6. “I See Houses”
7. “Noise Epic”
8. “Valium Skies”
9. “Columbo”
10. “Appalachian Springs”

Forth (Pre-Ordered Bonus Tracks):

11. “Mama Soul”
12. “Muhammad Ali”
