ALWAYS ACOUSTIC™ ALBUM REVIEW

Monday, October 27, 2008
By Aaron Keker

AC/DC has accomplished the unthinkable and have sold more than 780,000 copies of Black Ice in its first week of release.

Black Ice is exclusively sold at Walmart, Sam’s Club and www.acdc.com.

AC/DC said it best in the song  “Smash N Grab” when Brian Johnson sings the verse “come on and blow your mind.”

AC/DC has blown the universe’s mind again with song titles containing some form of the word “Rock” or “Rock N Roll” in them.

Black Ice contains “Rock N Roll Train,” “She Likes Rock N Roll,” “Rock N Roll Dream” and “Rocking All the Way.”

AC/DC has not only given the universe other “rock” songs but have provided us with other mind-blowing up-tempo favorites of “Anything Goes,” “Wheels,” “Money Made” and “Black Ice."

AC/DC has taken the Back in Black album, maintained the Black and added some Ice. Even those eighties headbangers who enjoyed Back in Black have to really enjoy the modern sound of Black Ice.

However, AC/DC has not modernized their music digitally by allowing it on iTunes, Napster or Rhapsody. They have only released one song on iTunes, which is “Big Gun” from the Last Action Hero (Music from the Original Motion Picture).

If AC/DC has no intention of releasing any additional music or albums on iTunes, Napster or Rhapsody, I do hope they reconsider at least making their music videos available on iTunes. In my opinion, AC/DC’s videos would be extremely popular with iTunes music video purchasers.

Finally, if you are looking for a modern rock album by one of the most popular rock bands in rock history, then Black Ice is for you. Black Ice has already sold over 780,000 copies in the U.S. and one must wonder how quickly it will achieve platinum status without being available on iTunes, Napster and Rhapsody? Check out AC/DC Radio on Sirius XM Radio, which is a 24 hour station devoted to playing their classic rock songs and exclusive interviews with AC/DC. AC/DC Radio will broadcast until January 15, 2009. Below is the album song list of Black Ice.

Black Ice:

  1. “Rock N Roll Train”
  2. “Skies on Fire”
  3. “Big Jack”
  4. “Anything Goes”
  5. “War Machine”
  6. “Smash N Grab”
  7. “Spoilin’ for a Fight”
  8. “Wheels”
  9. “Decibel”
  10. “Stormy May Day”
  11. “She Likes Rock N Roll”
  12. “Money Made”
  13. “Rock N Roll Dream”
  14. “Rocking All the Way”
  15. “Black Ice”
