Jason Reeves released his debut album The Magnificent Adventures of Heartache (and Other Frightening Tales) on September 9, 2008 on Warner Bros. Records.
One may have heard of Jason’s connection to Colbie Caillat, which he co-authored ten songs on her platinum album Coco.
Others may have heard Jason’s name tossed around on iTunes and MySpace. He was named one of the Top Indie Singer-Songwriters of 2007 by iTunes and Top Indie Artist on MySpace.
In fact, Jason’s success propelled him to #1 position on the MySpace Folk chart and made him a fixture in the Top 5 Acoustic (unsigned) and Top 20 Overall (unsigned) categories.
The magnificent adventure begins with “Someone Somewhere,” which has over a 1,000,000 plays on Jason Reeves’ MySpace page. Whether you just enjoy the stripped down acoustic sound or a mixture of an acoustic guitar sound mixed with the soothing sounds of the piano and orchestration, you should purchase the album at iTunes or any store that sells Jason’s music.
Some of my other favorite soothing acoustic songs are “You in a Song,” “Pretty Eyes,” “Never Find Again,” “Old Fashioned Letters,” “Just Friends,” “Photographs & Memories” and “Hearts are Magnets.”
Jason’s success on MySpace reminds me of John Vesely’s from Secondhand Serenade in which he built a majority of his fan base from MySpace. Jason’s most popular songs on MySpace besides “Someone Somewhere” are “Photographs & Memories,” “You in a Song,” “Reaching” and “Just Friends.” These songs collectively have been played over four million times. Not bad for a man who dropped out of college in Iowa to pursue his songwriting dream.
