“Tonight” will not only leave those hopeless romantics in a state of ecstasy, but the heartfelt ballad will certainly give “Wherever You Will Go” a run for its money.
You may be wondering whatever happened to lead singer Alex Band from The Calling.
Alex Band who co-wrote and sang the mega hit “Wherever You Will Go” will release his much anticipated solo album We’ve All Been There on June 29, 2010.
The album will be released on Alex’s label AMB Records, which will be distributed through EMI.
“Tonight” is summed up best by Alex Band’s remarks regarding the song and music video.
Alex remarked, “I didn’t want to write a conventional love song. I wanted it to have some weirder meaning … about a vampire trying to win over this girl and to be able to have her for one night.”
“Tonight” will not only leave those hopeless romantics in a state of ecstasy, but the heartfelt ballad will certainly give “Wherever You Will Go” a run for its money.
We’ve All Been There embraces the genre that I like to call “rocklass,” which I define by a modern rock sound infused with classical strings.
“Euphoria” is the perfect example of a rocklass ballad. It starts with the acoustic guitar infused with the classical strings and gradually crescendos into a modern up-tempo rock ballad with a classical infusion. The heartbreaker ballad on the album is “Start Over Again.”
We’ve All Been There is a seesaw that delicately balances love and heartbreak. Alex Band’s solo album will certainly resurrect him back into the spotlight after a five-year hiatus. The album and music video are definitely worth the investment. Make sure you purchase We’ve All Been There when it drops nationwide on June 29, 2010. Below is the song list from the album.
