ALWAYS ACOUSTIC® ALBUM REVIEW

Friday, June 11, 2010
By Aaron Keker

Jessica Leplon and Justin Wiley wonderfully complement one another and their vocal companionship will make The Morning Of successful.

The Morning Of Album Review by Aaron Keker of Always Acoustic

Jon Bon Jovi, Shaun Morgan and Kid Rock have sung duets with Jennifer Nettles, Amy Lee and Sheryl Crow. Their duets ended up becoming popular hits.

Now enters Jessica Leplon and Justin Wiley of The Morning Of, who stepped outside of the box and have continued to exchange duets on their sophomore album The Way I Fell In.

One could make the argument that Jessica and Justin are dueling vocalists similar to the dueling pianists at Howl at the Moon bar in Chicago.

Although that is a valid argument, I believe Jessica Leplon and Justin Wiley wonderfully complement one another and their vocal companionship will make The Morning Of successful. Instead of one duet that you may see on an album, The Way I Fell In consists of twelve.

“Tell Me I’m Wrong” begins with Jessica singing several verses. The next couple of verses, Jessica and Justin sing collectively. Jessica then begins the chorus with “Tell me I’m wrong” and Justin responds “You’ve lost the love you needed most.” They exchange vocals on the next two verses.

Jessica and Justin switch roles on “Like Yesterday.” Justin begins the song with the verse “I sit outside of your front door.” Jessica responds “Let me in.”

Other awesome songs on the album are “Jennasea,” “Dance with Me,” “The Ones That Fall Apart (Single)” and “Waiting.” Aaron Marsh of Copeland provided his vocal talent alongside Jessica and Justin on “Heaven or Hell.”

Jessica and Justin are both good singers and probably could front their own bands, but instead they chose to sing as a duo in The Morning Of.

The Way I Fell In was produced by Jim Wirt, who has worked with artists like No Doubt, Incubus and Jack’s Mannequin. Currently, the album is available digitally and at various retail outlets. Visit www.myspace.com/themorningof and familiarize yourselves with The Morning Of. Who knows, you might just fall in love with their music? Below is the song list for The Way I Fell In.
