ALWAYS ACOUSTIC™ ALBUM REVIEW

Tuesday, September 16, 2008
By Aaron Keker

The Pigeon Detectives released their U.S. Import E.P. titled E.P. on September 9, 2008 on their web site.

The album costs $3.00 and you will receive some of their biggest up-tempo hits off their U.K. albums Emergency and Wait for Me.

Honestly, I was unfamiliar with The Pigeon Detectives and their music but I really enjoyed their U.S. Import E.P.

I would have to say my favorite two fast-paced, energetic melodies are “This is an Emergency” and “I Found Out.”

I am really looking forward to listening to additional songs like “Say it Like You Mean It” and “Everybody Wants Me.” Unfortunately, the album will not be released until The Pigeon Detectives are signed to a U.S. record label. However, Matt Bowman confirmed in an interview with me that, “they should be signed to a U.S. label in the next couple of weeks.”

The Pigeon Detectives debut album Wait for Me went platinum in the U.K. Who knows, maybe once the U.S. has been exposed to this enthusiastic band and their music, maybe they will explode in popularity just like their U.K. following?

Patience will be needed because Emergency will not be released until possibly March or April 2009 in the U.S. It is unclear whether Wait for Me will be released around that time too? In the meantime familiarize yourself by visiting The Pigeon Detectives web site or MySpace page at www.thepigeondetectives.com or www.myspace.com/thepigeondetectives.

Finally, I am looking forward to listening to more of Emergency and Wait for Me once the albums are released in the U.S. Some of The Pigeon Detectives’ other popular songs off Emergency and Wait for Me on iTunes U.K. are “Say it Like You Mean It,” “Everybody Wants Me,” “I Found Out,” “I’m Not Sorry” and “Take Her Back.” I have even heard that Matt Bowman sometimes climbs on speaker stacks in The Pigeon Detectives’ live performances. The band with a quirky name, climbing speaker stacks and fast-paced energetic melodies must be very entertaining to see live. Below is the song list for E.P.

E.P.:

1. “This is an Emergency”
2. “I’m Not Sorry”
3. “I Found Out”
4. “I’m a Liar”
